Pretty darn good fishing today for our fleet. It was a good day on a nice ocean with lots of limits and some nice Lingcod. The picture above is a 35 pounder caught on the Outer Limits. It was a Hitchhiker or Hanger Ling where they latch on to another fish and hang on all the way to the boat. It's super important to leave their heads in the water because once they hit the surface they realize its time to let go. A lot of our bigger Lings are caught this way even latched onto another keeper Ling. That's how much of a voracious feeder Lingcod are. When they're hungry they will stop at nothing to get a meal.
Salmon still have not shown their smiling faces yet in our area. We just can't take you out if we know they're not here yet so until we get some better reports salmon fishing is on hold.
The forseeable inshore forecast looks great for at least the next 10 days so come on down to hammer them. Offshore is kind of a mixed Bag for our Halibut Trips as at our 100 fathom line everything changes. 100 fathom is 600 feet which is about 12 miles from our Harbour. Usually it's about double the windage out there but can change fairly quickly.
