Limits of Halibut and Rockfish

The Outer Limits got all of there Halibut once again today with almost 30 Blackcod and lots of Monster Rockfish. The average size of Halibut weren't quite the grade of yesterday's fish. We went to the same spot as yesterday but it didn't produce as well so we moved to another spot about 12 miles away and it produced quickly. The Blackcod were thick out there and like we tell folks, "Every 2 Blackcod or Rockfish represent a Halibut because they've taken the bait before the Buts can get to it."
The Blackcod were really biting and they are delicious. You can't find better smoking material that literally melts in your mouth. This is why some folks call them Butterfish.
The Lingcod were on the slower side today on our Bottomfishing Trips with only a handful caught. We did make up for it with close to limits on Jurassic Rockfish with much more meat on them then a smaller legal Lingcod.
The inshore forecast looks pretty darn good through Mother's Day so let's go fishin' with Mom this week. Even filets and crab make a great gift for her! Better yet, they make for a great Mother's Day Dinner!
