Fish Report for 6-4-2020

Thursday Report

6-4-2020
Noelie Achen ( Vice President )

A day suppose to be windy even in the morning hours turned out to be a nice morning With some of that wind showing up in the afternoon hours. The fishing was really good this morning again and was steady all morning long. Lots of Lingcod caught but just as yesterday being the same not many of them were take home models. Lots of “shorties” we had to return to grow up some. Crabbing was decent again today in the 2-3 range per person participating.

Central Oregon Coast Subarea:

Spring All-Depth Season:    Opens May 21.  ODFW is delaying the opener by one week (from May 14 to May 21) to allow more time for ports, charters and other facilities to prepare for reopening, and to ensure fair and equitable access to halibut across the entire Central Coast Subarea.  ODFW has been working with local governments and ports to address COVID-19 concerns related to the all-depth halibut opener.  Once the season begins, it will be open on dates scheduled based on public input earlier this year: May 21-23, May 28-30, June 11-13, June 18-20, and July 9-11.  Additional all-depth fishing days may be opened later in the spring or summer if quota remains.        Quota = 171,103 pounds.

Summer All-Depth Season:  Scheduled to open Aug 6-8, then every other Thurs, Fri and/or Sat until the earlier of quota attainment or Oct 31. Quota = 67,898
