Saturday August 1st fishing report

Tuna

From what we are hearing the fish are just to far off the coast to get to them with day boats.  The southerly winds and current we are experiencing right now might have a way of changing that.  We will keep you informed.

Halibut

The Kadaho’s in early with a great catch of Halibut as you can see from the attached photo(s).  All folks onboard were limited by 10:45am and they are home early by and far the 1st boat back in.   Remember the next opener…August 6,7, & 8.  The first opener of the so called summer Halibut quota.

Salmon

Hey folks…here is some welcome news.  Some of our spies on the sport boat side told us that the Salmon bite out there this morning was really good with lots of limit catches.  There was also lots of action.  So after 5-weeks of waiting maybe a few fish have arrived.

Bottom fishing & Crabbing

Bottom fishing today was almost as good as the crabbing with three boats back in early with limits on the rockfish and a few Lingcod delivered to the filet tables.  Late summer historically not the best time for Lingcod but they are out there if you can’t oner over the 22″ minimum.

Crabbing spectacular !!
